Looks like Charlize Theron (or Carey Mulligan) is going to have some competition!
Earlier this week, we heard that both Charlize and Carey are favorites to play the role of Princess Di in an upcoming biopic based on the 2009 book Diana: Closely Guarded Secret.
Now, we've learned that Naomi Watts has just signed on to play Princess Diana in ANOTHER upcoming movie about the Princess of Wales entitled Caught In Flight, which is being described as follows:
CAUGHT IN FLIGHT is a compelling portrait of Diana, Princess of Wales during the last two years of her life. It charts how finding true personal happiness for the first time allowed her to achieve her defining successes evolving into a major international campaigner and humanitarian.
Here's what Naomi had to say about being chosen for the role:
"It is such an honour to be able to play this iconic role – Princess Diana was loved across the world, and I look forward to rising to the challenge of playing her on screen."
Should be interesting to see which of these two Diana movies come out on top! We'll keep an eye out for more casting news from the other one!
