Since apologizing for the use of the gay slur that got him fired from producing the Oscars, Brett Ratner has stayed true to his word and is working with GLAAD on a campaign to benefit the very people he offended.
He will produce and direct a video that will feature Hollywood celebrities, athletes, musicians and politicians "coming out of the closet" as supporters of the LGBT community.
We're not sure who will be coming out of those closet doors yet in support of equality, but the experience does seem to be having a positive affect on Ratner, who said in a statement:
"Working together with GLAAD has been a very positive and enlightening experience for me, and I could not be more pleased to be developing this crucial campaign to help educate people that we all share the same humanity. I am excited to get to work on this program and hope that minds and hearts are opened by what we create.”
We're glad he's helping to educate people on such an important issue, even if he was kind of guilted into this. Hopefully this will be an awesome video starring lots of high profile celebrities!
Who would U like to see "come out" in support of the LGBT community?
Since The Muppets got bumped out of the Oscars too (for seemingly no reason, unlike Ratner's very clear reason), we think it would be super cool if they got to speak up about equality!
